The Bella Coola Music Festival carefully considers the environmental impact, when making decisions, of our events located in the beautiful rural and remote Bella Coola Valley at the Lobelco Community Hall and Fall Fair Grounds. Minimizing environmental impact through the adoption of environmentally responsible business practices and initiatives remains a key organizational goal. Wherever possible, we adopt practices and use products that are more environmentally friendly. We strive to make changes to better our organization and festival each year and are committed to utilizing best practices.
Our current initiatives to reduce our environmental impact include:
Recycling & Composting – Through generous support from the Cariboo Conservation Society, the Festival initiated a successful Zero Waste pilot program in 2018. The multi-material recycling, compost and waste station will be made available in 2019 and into the future.
Foods Initiative – We encourage all of our food vendors and contractors to provide sustainable food choices through offering local, organic, fair trade and vegetarian options.
We thank you for your support in making this happen!
